Darby Allin Speaks About Possibly Splitting From Sting

Darby Allin is a former TNT Champion, and he spoke about the possibility of splitting from Sting. Darby Allin is one of the highest risk-takers in AEW right now. He has also been part of many dangerous spots that many professional wrestlers would never even dream of being a part of.

Darby has, however, not been very successful during recent matches. He lost his match against MJF recently, and that may hurt his career. He also lost against CM Punk, in CM Punk’s debut match in AEW. Darby Allin spoke to Bleacher Report about the legendary professional wrestler, Sting.

Darby Allin Says That He Does Not See The Split Happening Anytime Soon

“He’s amazing as a mentor. He’s the most humble guy. We sit there all day and just talk,” Darby said. Sting was the face of WCW during the Monday Night Wars.

He is also a WWE Hall of Famer and joined AEW in 2020. Since then, he has competed several times inside an AEW ring, even though he is 62 years old. Darby is currently 28 years old and he spoke about being Sting’s fan when he was a child.

“As for being someone I look up to, I was too young when he was killing it at the top of his game, but the older I get, the more I’m able to appreciate him,” he explained. Many AEW fans have openly spoken about the idea of Darby splitting from Sting one day.

According to Darby, it will not happen in the near future as there is no storyline that can lead to that. He also stated that it doesn’t make sense for them to split as Sting has shown no interest that he wishes to pursue a solo career in AEW.

“That’s not in the cards yet, ever. It’s different when there’s two young guys trying to prove to each other they’re better, but Sting has done everything twice. He has no ego. There is no reason he’d want to split up,” Darby Allin explained.

Sting joined WWE in 2014 and made his official WWE in-ring debut at WrestleMania that year. However, Sting’s WWE career was very short and he wasn’t able to win a single title during his time there. He also lost his last match to Seth Rollins and he got injured during that match which forced him to retire temporarily.
