Rampage: CM Punk got injured

During AEW Double Or Nothing, 2022 CM Punk managed to win a belt again after several years, snatching it from Adam Page, but unfortunately, his reign has already come to an end due to an injury. In fact, in the last episode of AEW Rampage that aired this week, the champion got into the ring, picked up the microphone and explained everything: "When I got here today, I dragged myself to the arena and every bone in my body was screaming at me to turn around and go home and go hug my wife and Larry [my dog].

And when I say every bone in my body, I mean the broken one too. But my brain told me to stay, and my instincts he told me that everyone here live deserved an explanation - so here I am. Since I set foot here in All Elite Wrestling, I have told you that I would give my all to the last.

I've had good and bad news. Which do you want first? The last thing I want to hear is that I am failing one of you. The last thing I wanted to do was disappoint you. I hope it hasn't made you feel that way so far. I loved every single second I spent in this ring, every time I was in this ring in front of all of you it was a gift that I never thought I could relive."

Backstage news on CM Punk

CM Punk then continued the conversation by revealing that he was injured and although he did not openly say where, presumed to be on his foot as in a backstage photo with FTR after their last match together, he was without a boot.

"So here's the bad news: I'm injured and need surgery. A couple of things are broken. The biggest one is my heart, because I love nothing more than performing for all of you, and I wanted to do a run. Hell. That's the bad news.

The good news is that I can still do all of this. [...]" The AEW has made it known that during the next installment of Dynamite there will be a Battle Royal and the winner will face Jon Moxley in the main event and the further winner between the two will go to Forbidden Door, the next big AEW event, to compete and become the new Interim AEW World Champion.

We just have to wish a speedy recovery to the Best in the World. During the latest Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray addressed CM Punk's botched Buckshot Lariat. "I like the fact that Punk kind of messed up the Buckshot Lariat, that’s real as if Punk in training tried to master the Buckshot but just couldn’t pull it off.

I don’t find anything wrong with that, despite people going on social media saying ‘he botched, he botched.’ Give me a freakin break," Bully Ray stated.
