The negative news for Tony Khan's company continues. According to rumors reported by the American magazine Fightful, another top star of the AEW seems to be been injured: we are talking about Bryan Danielson, for weeks the main member of the Blackpool Combat Club, a stable led by William Regal.
Apparently, the American Dragon wouldn't show up for a meet and greet with fans because he was injured. At the moment no details are known about the extent of the physical problem, but it is likely that it all happened in Double or Nothing during the chaotic and controversial Anarchy in the Arena Match.
If the injury is confirmed, Bryan would be forced not to attend Forbidden Door, PPV in collaboration with New Japan Pro Wrestling scheduled for Sunday 26 June. At the moment AEW is already grappling with CM Punk's injury, having to change plans during construction: a new interim world champion will in fact be crowned who will then face the Chicago wrestler on his return.
Is Bryan Danielson injured?
Bryan Danielson's name was among the eligible candidates to be Punk's successor, but fans will therefore have to wait. Since his debut in AEW, the former leader of the Yes Movement has given 100% to the ring by giving birth to incredible matches and proving, once again, that he is one of the best in the world.
At the same time, Bryan has repeatedly admitted that he wants to keep fighting but reduce his style to avoid dangerous bumps and enjoy his son. Also in recent interviews, Bryan admitted that he was initially skeptical of his coming to Tony Khan's court due to his age and the presence of young athletes who staged rather dangerous maneuvers.
Precisely for this reason, he has decided to behave like a bully backstage, trying to be respected and at the same time give lessons. In addition to Punk and Bryan, Scorpio Sky, current TNT Champion, also said he was injured in the match against Dante Martin in the latest episode of Rampage.
A clear sign of how even AEW wrestlers need rest periods. During the taping of AEW, scheduled to air on May 20th, Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley of the Blackpool Combat Club took on Dante Martin and Matt Sydal. Somewhere along the way, it appeared that Danielson got his leg stuck between the elevated ramp and the ring apron.
It appeared the "American Dragon" was injured in the bizarre incident, however, nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.
