Kenny Omega has been out for several months due to an injury, and he teased that he will not return at the Forbidden Door PPV. Kenny Omega is one of AEW’s top superstars at one time. He also held the AEW World Title. He dropped the title to Jon Moxley and announced that he would take time off to return from multiple injuries.
He even considered retiring early from professional wrestling as he had to work really hard during his NJPW time. Kenny Omega just stated on Sports Illustrated that there is ‘zero chance’ that he will be the individual to fight Sabre Jr.
Bryan Danielson will actually pick Sabre’s opponent for the Forbidden Door event. He still stated that Bryan’s pick will make the fans extremely happy.
Kenny Omega Stated That He Will Not Appear At Forbidden Door
“I can’t see people being disappointed by this legitimately hand-picked replacement by Bryan Danielson,” Omega tells.
Fans are actually looking forward to Kenny Omega’s return. Omega is on the other hand looking forward to seeing which NJPW stars will be able to connect with the fans. Omega himself was an extremely important part of NJPW.
He joined the company in 2008 and left in 2019 to join AEW. In NJPW he captured the IWGP World Heavyweight Title and was the first ever Canadian wrestler to do it. “It’s been a while since myself and the Young Bucks left New Japan, and the hierarchy in the company has shifted,” Omega said.
“I’ve really liked seeing the landscape in New Japan develop to where it is now… This is a card I couldn’t have predicted, but it’s cool that it includes a lot of people I always imagined would be on it.
I am very disappointed I can’t be there, even just to see my old friends, but I’m really excited to watch. “… And who will make the biggest impression? I know Tanahashi said that it will be him, and that’s possible.
We don’t know who people will gravitate towards. Will it be Okada? He’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Or will they fall in love with Tanahashi? Or Shingo [Takagi]? Or Jay White or Will Ospreay? That’s what makes this so cool”.
This will be the first ever crossover event between NJPW and All Elite Wrestling. Omega thinks that this is going to be an extremely unpredictable event. “Some major belts could change hands. It’s exciting to see these two worlds collide, and this vision of pro wrestling—and this relationship with New Japan—is finally coming to fruition,” Kenny Omega noted.
“That’s what I always wanted in AEW. We now have a relationship with New Japan, AAA, DDT, and Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling. These are entities that otherwise wouldn’t have all worked together, and we’ll get a taste of that at Forbidden Door”.
