Wardlow becomes more and more popular in the world of wrestling and is serious about his intentions to reach the throne. In a guest appearance on the TWC Show, Wardlow talked about his dream match - Jeff Hardy is obviously his biggest wish, and he might have a chance to fight him.
“Everybody assumes [Jeff Hardy] is a dream opponent of mine, and yes, that would be cool. I would love to wrestle Jeff Hardy, but more so than wrestle, I want to team with Jeff Hardy,” Wardlow said as quoted by Wrestling Inc.
“If I could do a six-man and just be Team Xtreme for one night, myself, Matt, and Jeff, I think that would be the ultimate dream more so than actually wrestling him”.
Wardlow on Swanton Bomb
Wardlow also talked about the Swanton Bomb and why he uses it.
It is obvious that the reason arose in his early days. “I anticipated being the next Jeff Hardy, that was my initial goal in wrestling,” Wardlow said. “I spent years … doing Swantons and teaching my body to flip, and twist, and corkscrew, and I was like, ‘I’m going to sell my a** off and I’m going to do really cool stuff’, and then I blow up my junior and senior year, and your body — you know, muscle memory — your body still remembers that stuff”.
There were rumors that Wardlow might leave AEW and head to WWE. Many wrestlers dream of making it to WWE, but Wardlow denied such rumors and revealed that he is happy in AEW. “I’m very, very happy where I am. I never say never about anything in life, but as of right now, I am very happy where I am,” he said. We will see if Wardlow will eventually change his decision in the coming period.
