Tony Khan Speaks About Company Shakeups

Tony Khan, the President of AEW, recently spoke about the recent shakeup in AEW. AEW recently added a few people to their talent relations department. They recently hired industry veteran Madison Rayne. She is a former Impact Knockouts Champion.

“We’ve shaken up the office a bit,” AEW President Tony Khan told “Busted Open Radio,” “We have a lot of great executives, and like you said we’ve added … Madison Rayne … She’s a great person in the ring and a great person in the office”.

Tony Khan Talks About Hiring Madison Rayne

Khan seemed extremely excited that AEW managed to secure the services of Rayne and that she will be coaching the AEW Women’s Roster. According to Tony, people are extremely excited to see Rayne in the AEW.

Rayne’s former colleagues include legendary professional wrestlers, Tommy Dreamer and Mickie James. Both of them felt happy that Rayne has joined AEW. Tony Khan also stated that he is open to letting Rayne wrestle in the AEW if she wants to.

“We have people in the office who wrestle as part of their schedule,” Khan said. Rayne’s hiring came alongside the announcement of the promotions of both Sonjay Dutt and QT Marshall, both of whom appear regularly on AEW programming.

While Dutt is strictly a manager at the moment, Marshall has been a constant in-ring presence in AEW, wrestling alongside his trainees in The Factory despite his obligations in the front office. And of course, Executive Vice Presidents Matt and Nick Jackson wrestle for the company regularly, as did their fellow EVP, Kenny Omega, before his recent injuries.

“I’m primarily focused on the whole company,” Khan said of the latest delegations in duty. “But [Madison Rayne wrestling is] definitely something I’m really open to”. Even though Tony Khan has hired some of the best players in the industry, AEW is still not been able to grow its audience.

In fact, AEW’s rating has been slightly declining ever since CM Punk got injured. They have not been able to create any meaningful storylines that will bring in a newer audience. In fact, many famous wrestling personalities have criticized Tony for bad booking and also criticized the wrestlers for botching plenty of moves during live matches.

AEW has also managed to hire some former WWE wrestlers that left the WWE, such as Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole. However, the WWE fans are still sticking to WWE and have not switched to AEW even though some of their favorite wrestlers are now in AEW.
