Mick Foley is known as the best hardcore wrestler of all time, and he recently spoke about what he believes are the Most Valuable Players in wrestling right now. Mick Foley is not very active in the professional wrestling industry anymore, however, he is still regarded as one of the best to ever step inside a WWE ring.
He regularly used to take risks that no other wrestler in the world would take. For example, he was one of the first wrestlers in the WWE to take a fall from the top of the Hell in a Cell.
Mick Foley Names What He Believes are Currently the MVPs This Year
Mick runs his podcast called ‘Foley is Pod’.
During the latest episode, he spoke about who he believes are this year’s Most Valuable Players. He named both male and female wrestlers. As 2022 is near its end, Mick may change his mind before the end of the year. AEW and WWE have extremely talented superstars right now and anybody could be mentioned.
CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Ronda Rousey are all doing well in their respective promotions. Two names, however, stand out for Mick. "I would say Moxley is my MVP at this point in the year," Foley said. "Just for what his presence on TV has meant.
Coming back from rehabilitation and willing to go anywhere and work any style. That reminds me of the Harley Races, the traveling champion of old. I would put Moxley up there as my male MVP." Wrestling Observer Awards are held every year, and it is quite possible that Jon Moxley wins the award this year.
If that happens, it would be the third year in a row a wrestler from AEW takes the award. In 2020, Jon Moxley won the award while he was working for AEW. In 2021, Kenny Omega took the award. Both of them performed really well that year and helped AEW reach the status that it has right now.
Mick Foley named Becky Lynch as his female MVP. Even though Becky is injured, he believes that she will still make a huge impact when she returns to wrestle for the WWE. "Becky Lynch at this point is my female MVP," Mick Foley said.
"She's not going to probably return before the end of the year, I don't know. Even if she doesn't return before the end of the year, I think what she did on a weekly basis was just so impressive that she gets my nod. Not just because she's a good friend and sites me as an inspiration, just because she did amazing stuff."
