Last night in a new episode of AEW Dynamite named for the occasion Grand Slam, several important elements for the Jacksonville federation went into dinner. The show held inside Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, saw Chris Jericho defeat Claudio Castagnoli and win the ROH World Championship for the first time in his career (eighth world title for him after 6 in WWE and the reign from first overall AEW champion), then Acclaimed triumphed over the team made up of Keith Lee and Swerve, which is why they also graduated for the first time new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Then, in the main event of the show, Jon Moxley defeated Bryan Danielson in a tense and intense challenge where the two faced off in a one on one titled for the first time since playing in All Elite Wrestling. But not only this, because during the women's match in which Toni Storm successfully defended her title at Interim, Saraya, better known Paige in WWE, made her debut in her company, remarking that she arrived in her "house" of her again.
Britt Baker comments on Saraya's debut
This segment obviously generated great amazement among the fans and, above all, for the people involved in that match. One of these is DMD Britt Baker, who immediately released a comment after the show about Saraya's return to the business well warned by the former champion.
Baker said AEW is her home and that there is no place for Paige from wherever she comes from. Certainly, based on the above, the company will push towards this type of feud which will represent Saraya's actual debut in the ring, provided that the two-time Divas Champion actually makes a hard-fought comeback after years of inactivity.
Below you will be able to retrieve the clip with Baker's words directly from Dynamite's backstage. On Friday, a new Rampage episode will be aired to follow up on this week's Grand Slam series of events which will be analyzed on Monday within episode 226 of Pro Wrestling Culture, the podcast created and conducted by "The REAL Messiah" Aldo Fiadone is available live every Monday afternoon on the Twitch Open Wrestling TV channel.
WWE Star Mandy Rose recently spoke about Saraya's influence on her career. "Yeah, for sure. It's kind of full circle and I always kind of talk about that because I think it's kind of cool because Paige helped Sonya and I so much in the beginning and not just in when it came to wrestling but just so many things," Rose said.
