Many wonder for how long Chris Jericho will be part of the wrestling scene. He has shown his qualities many times and many hope that this will last. Jericho is 51 years old but still has plans to stay and be a part of AEW. "At 51, am I the best? No, but some nights I am," Jericho said, as quoted by wrestlinginc.
"And I'm one of the best every night." "I always say that when I lose a match, [people think] it's the best match. When I win a match, suddenly it's 51-year-old Jericho holding down the young guys.
And, you know, I don't mind," Jericho continued. "I'm 51, I'm not ashamed of it. I've had 32 great years. But f***, man, if I can reinvent myself and maybe have four or five more years wrestling at the highest of levels, why not do it?"
Chris Jericho and legends
He made a comparison with some legends.
"I just saw the Stones in London in July, and Mick Jagger still looks like Mick Jagger. He's almost 80, but he sings great, he looks great, he moves great. You can still go to a Stones show and feel like you saw the Stones," he added.
"So it's a real reinvention, not just from a gimmick standpoint, but from a lifestyle standpoint," he said. "I'm very proud of it." He is happy about AEW and his experience. “We’ve been doing this for three years now and continuing to grow, and this is a big-time corporate business.
We are run and paid for by a giant television corporation. So, there’s always gonna be growing pains when you start a company. I think we’ve done nine things right and maybe one thing wrong or two things wrong. So we learn from that and we continue to build our brand and continue to improve”.
he said for wrestlinginc, as quoted by pwmania.com “WWE has a lot of [fans], but they’ve also been around for 50 years. Give us another 47 years to see where we’re at. I guarantee we’ll still be here”.
