As all wrestling fans will remember, Jeff Hardy was arrested last June in Volusia County, Florida, for drunk driving. The 'Charismatic Enigma' had failed all balance tests and its BAC exceeded the legal limit in the state of Florida by nearly four times.
The former WWE star was released on bail, but Tony Khan immediately suspended him from All Elite Wrestling without pay. The AEW boss had also ordered him to go to rehab if he wanted to get back in the ring in the future. Before being suspended, Jeff was ready to team up with his brother Matt to take on Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.
Hardy is arguably one of the most spectacular wrestlers of the modern era, having made millions of fans around the world fall in love with his thrilling sequences.
Jeff Hardy feels better
After numerous postponements, the preliminary hearing on Jeff Hardy's case will be held on November 17.
According to the latest rumors, Jeff will not be able to fight again until he has solved his legal and personal problems. For the first time since he was suspended from AEW in June 2022, Hardy reappeared in public while spending an evening with his brother Matt and the young duo Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen).
A few weeks ago, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo had shot zero at Jeff: “We all know what his problems are, as he's been carrying them around for years and years. The thing I just can't accept is that - despite being drunk - he got behind the wheel of a car.
We are not talking about a simple hangover. By acting that way, he endangered the lives of other people. When I heard the news, my mind immediately went to Bill DeMott, whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver. Jeff is struggling with an addiction and we hope he gets out of it, but he has to be careful what he does." AEW star Jeff Hardy has recalled a time where he felt crushed and ashamed at the idea of being placed in the WWE 24/7 Championship picture.
“I feel bad for saying this because I’m so easy to work with I’ll do pretty much whatever, but I was pretty crushed that day. I was like ‘okay this is it. I don’t know why I’m here, this is crazy, they’re really doing this to me.’ And that’s not an arrogant thing to say, I felt like I just - I felt ashamed like I shouldn’t be doing that, but I did it and I was like ‘man what does this mean?”
