Kota Ibushi Sends Message to Kenny Omega

Kota Ibushi is one of the NJPW’s biggest stars and he is all set to face Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17. Wrestle Kingdom 17 will have a full-capacity crowd at the Tokyo Dome. So it will be a very important event for NJPW, as they were operating under restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

So their previous two Wrestle Kingdom events did not have a full-capacity crowd. Kenny Omega was at one time one of NJPW’s top stars. He left NJPW to joining Aew in 2019 and has since then become one of AEW’s biggest stars.

He is also an Executive Vice President at AEW and is a former AEW World Champion. He also won multiple titles during his AEW run, including winning titles during crossovers with Impact Wrestling.

Kota Ibushi Sends Kenny Omega a Message Through Twitter

Kota is actually Kenny’s former partner and is still his friend.

So Kota sent a message to Kenny Omega via a tweet. "Kenny, good luck. Just don't get hurt, that's all. Only win," Ibushi wrote. He then followed up with hashtags "NeverRunAway," "NeverLose," and "NeverGiveUp.". He also ended the tweet with “Change The World” which is a slogan used by The Elite.

He also attached a picture of himself with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks from 2018 with their Golden Elite t-shirts. Kota's wrestling future is uncertain for now as his contract is set to expire. His NJPW contract will expire this month and there have been problems between him and the company over the past few months.

He actually suffered a shoulder injury while wrestling against Kazuchika Okada in October of 2021 during the G1 Climax event. That forced him to stay out of action for a very long time. Kota has not announced his plans for now but he has stated that he will not be joining AEW.

Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega are set to fight each other during the dual main event that will be held during Wrestle Kingdom 17. This will be Kenny’s first match for NJPW since Wrestle Kingdom 13. At Wrestle Kingdom 13, Kenny faced IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Hiroshi Tanahashi, who is now retired.

That was Kenny’s last proper match for NJPW. After that, he actually left NJPW to join AEW along with the other members of the Elite. Since then, they have remained with AEW and are continuing to grow the company.
