Mick Foley was one of the greatest hardcore wrestlers of all time. The former WWE champion is known for taking himself to extremes in multiple circumstances during his career, especially in his matches in WCW. It is therefore not surprising that he has revealed that he is attracted to one of the most daring athletes of the Jacksonville federation, namely Darby Allin.
Mick Foley on Darby Allin
During his latest podcast 'Foley is Pod', Mick Foley called Darby Allin a phenomenal wrestler for his skills in the ring: “He is a phenomenal athlete and it shows that he comes from the world of extreme sports.
He moves like a cat and has incredible control of his body." Although Mick Foley is best known for his great hardcore matches, the latter was also liked by his extravagant characters such as Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind.
Continuing on his podcast, Foley noted that Darby Allin should find a way to reduce the need to do extreme stunts to please audiences: , they basically intend to recreate the same thrust every time. Guys who have had long stints in WWE and WCW needed to flesh out their character to entertain and not be boring in the long run.
Darby is a soft-spoken young athlete and I think he should find a way to enhance his character. He doesn't have to always need to take those risks all the time to please the fans." Darby Allin played his last match in AEW during the February 1 episode of Dynamite, where he has the TNT title against Samoa Joe in one of the most violent No Holds Barred in the history of the federation.
Furthermore, recently, Mick Foley also wanted to spend big words for another WWE Hall of Famer, namely Lita. Wrestling legend Al Snow recently shared his thoughts on AEW star Darby Allin's dangerous in-ring style, which has earned him many fans over the years.
"Darby Allin has kind of got that though, unfortunately, he's doesn't do a lot of smart stuff to his body. And unfortunately, he's gonna have a very short career. And he's going to pay a major price when he gets older. It all comes back to haunt you.
He's gonna suffer a major injury at some point and then he's gonna be on the shelf, and he might lose all that he gained over the last year. So he's got to learn to work a lot more smarter and to capitalize on what he does," Snow said.
