Komander, who impressed fans with his performance in the Face of the Revolution ladder matches on March 1, his match with El Hijo del Vikingo at ROH Supercard of Honor, and his losing effort against Sammy Guevara on the April 5 edition of Dynamite, suffered a knee injury while wrestling Gringo Loco and Arez at the "Lucha Palooza" event for Canadian promotion Demand Lucha.

According to John Pollock of POST Wrestling, Komander was helped backstage after the injury and did not reappear, leading many to speculate on the severity of the injury. What makes the situation even more concerning is that the AEW star wasn't even expected to show up, as the company had announced he would miss the show due to travel issues, only for him to appear at the last minute.

Setback for Komander in AEW
