Swerve Strickland has emerged as the key figure at the helm of the recently formed Mogul Embassy faction in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH), following a merger between his former group, Mogul Affiliates, and Prince Nana's longstanding Embassy.
Insights have now surfaced suggesting that unforeseen circumstances may have prompted the strategic consolidation. Strickland initially assembled the Mogul Affiliates following his parting of ways with Keith Lee. The lineup included Parker Boudreaux, a robust recruit, and Trench, who's as known for his extensive tattoos as he is for his anticipated wrestling debut.
The music mogul Rick Ross further complemented the team. However, Strickland and Boudreaux's single collaboration in AEW resulted in a loss against Dustin Rhodes and Keith Lee. Trench, meanwhile, has yet to step into the ring.
Strickland's Strategic Faction Merger
In an intriguing turn of events, Swerve Strickland strategically merged his Mogul Affiliates with the Embassy, a respected faction in the wrestling world. Led by Prince Nana and consisting of the formidable trio of Brian Cage, Toa Liona, and Kaun, the Embassy has an illustrious history stretching back to 2004.
Notably, the present-day group is the proud holder of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championship. Fightful Select has recently revealed that Boudreaux and Trench have been battling injuries, leading to their conspicuous absence from recent AEW broadcasts.
These unfortunate incidents occurred before the decision to amalgamate the factions into the Mogul Embassy, which may have played a role in the merger. In his latest AEW venture, Strickland attempted to dethrone Orange Cassidy from his AEW International Championship, though he was unsuccessful.
Yet, another showdown between the two seems imminent. On the June 14th edition of Dynamite, a monumental eight-man tag team match has been scheduled, featuring the Mogul Embassy facing off against Orange Cassidy, Keith Lee, Darby Allin, and Sting. This high-stakes encounter will prove pivotal in the ongoing narrative of Strickland's evolving faction.
