As the anticipation builds and the wrestling world eagerly awaits, AEW (All Elite Wrestling) fans are just one sleep away from the high-octane event, "AEW Collision". The electric energy of the event is set to be fueled further by the return of wrestling legend CM Punk, who's primed not only to make a comeback but also to step into the main event.

And accompanying the thrilling wrestling action, the commentary box will be energized by industry veterans, Kevin Kelly, Nigel McGuinness, and Jim Ross.

Elton John Song Chosen for AEW

However, AEW President, Tony Khan, had one crucial element left to address: the opening theme song selection.

The news broke on Friday evening when Khan took to Twitter to announce the choice. The iconic hit "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting" by the legendary Elton John was chosen to kickstart the event. In his tweet, Tony Khan affirmed, "It's official!

Our opening theme for Saturday Night #AEWCollision on TNT is Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting by Sir Elton John!". This news will undoubtedly add an extra layer of excitement and gravitas to the much-anticipated wrestling extravaganza.

Interestingly, Tony Khan, son of Shahid Khan - the owner of the Premier League club, Fulham FC - also recognized the long-standing relationship between Elton John and the soccer world. Elton John, a dedicated Watford FC enthusiast, has been associated with the club for many years, even previously serving as the club's chairman.

Tony, in a nod to this shared love for football, tweeted, "While @FulhamFC and @WatfordFC will never be best mates on the pitch, you're now a great friend to @AEW, @eltonofficial, and we salute you, Sir!" As for "AEW Collision", the debut show that's set to take place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, hopes are high for a successful event that could boost ticket sales in subsequent markets.

Current challenges notwithstanding, the company seems to be on a slow ride up with ticket sales. The return of Punk, teaming up with FTR to face Samoa Joe along with Bullet Club Gold's Jay White and Juice Robinson, might not be the silver bullet Tony Khan is hoping for.

However, what is certain is that Sir Elton John's melody will add to the rich tapestry of professional wrestling history.
