In a surprising turn of events, one of the most prominent figures in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Jon Moxley, will unfortunately be absent from the highly anticipated July 5th episode of Dynamite. Known for his electrifying presence and captivating performances, Moxley holds the distinction of being the only three-time AEW World Champion, solidifying his status as a major force in the company.
Recently, Moxley has been embroiled in an intense rivalry alongside his Blackpool Combat Club comrades, consisting of Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. Their adversaries? The formidable faction known as The Elite, comprised of Kenny Omega, "Hangman" Adam Page, and The Young Bucks—Matt and Nick Jackson.
While Moxley's appearances on Dynamite have been a regular occurrence, fans will be disappointed to learn that he won't be gracing the stage in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on July 5th. This absence stems from Moxley's commitment to another wrestling engagement, as he is scheduled to compete in two New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) shows, collectively known as Strong Independence Day, in Japan.
These events are set to take place on July 4th and July 5th, coinciding with Dynamite.
Intense Matches Await Moxley
On the first night of Strong Independence Day, Moxley will join forces with Homicide as they face off against the formidable duo of El Desperado and Jun Kasai in an exhilarating "Exciting Encounter Doomsday No DQ" match.
The following night, July 5th, Moxley is slated to engage in a gripping "Final Death" match against El Desperado. Although Moxley won't be physically present at AEW Dynamite, fans can still catch a glimpse of their beloved superstar.
Moxley recently recorded a pre-taped interview, which is scheduled to be broadcast during the episode, allowing viewers to hear his thoughts and insights despite his absence. In a recent discussion on Wrestling Observer Radio, esteemed journalist Dave Meltzer shed light on Moxley's upcoming plans.
He revealed, "No, he won't be appearing on the show. Moxley is in Japan. Moxley is in the main event on shows Tuesday and Wednesday in Japan. The show will be over at our time. It's a 6:30 show in Japan, so he's not gonna be able to get back.
It's a taped interview. I knew he was doing a taped interview." Looking ahead, fans can expect a thrilling showdown between the Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite. Set to take place on the July 19th episode of Dynamite in Boston, this epic confrontation will unfold within the confines of a Blood & Guts double steel cage match.
Given Moxley's penchant for delivering high-intensity and hard-hitting encounters, it is safe to assume that this upcoming spectacle will be drenched in blood, providing an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.
