CM Punk's Struggle: Hilarious TV Slip Leaves Ex-WWE Star "Dying"

One aspect that sets All Elite Wrestling (AEW) apart from other mainstream wrestling promotions is its more relaxed approach to strong language. However, during a recent promo, it was "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard who caused CM Punk to lose his composure off-camera due to an unexpected and hilarious slip of the tongue.

During an episode of "The Daddy Magic Show," Menard shared an anecdote about navigating AEW's rules on prohibited language with company president Tony Khan. Recounting his experience, Menard revealed his desire to use the phrase, "suck my a$$," on television.

He sought approval from Khan, who consulted the list of banned words. To Menard's surprise, the phrase wasn't on the list, leading him to conclude that it was permissible to say.

CM Punk's Hilarious Encounter

Seizing the opportunity, Menard delivered the line in a split-screen promo during the January 7, 2022 episode of AEW Rampage.

Unbeknownst to him, CM Punk happened to be nearby and overheard the entire segment. Punk couldn't contain his laughter and approached Menard, exclaiming, "Did you just say suck my a$$?" Menard proudly responded, "You're damn right I did." While the incident provided a humorous backstage moment, the focus now turns to CM Punk's upcoming match on AEW Collision.

Set to take place this Saturday, the event marks a significant milestone in Punk's All Elite Wrestling career. He will face off against Ricky Starks in the final of the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. To reach the final, Punk triumphed over Satoshi Kojima and Samoa Joe, showcasing his skills and determination.

Starks, on the other hand, emerged victorious against Juice Robinson and Powerhouse Hobbs, solidifying his position as a formidable competitor. Notably, the women's final of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament is also scheduled for the same evening.

Ruby Soho will compete against the winner of the match between Willow Nightingale and ROH Women's Champion Athena, who will face each other on this week's episode of AEW Rampage to determine the second finalist. As anticipation builds for AEW Collision, fans eagerly await the outcome of these thrilling matches, while the memory of CM Punk's uncontrollable laughter backstage serves as a lighthearted reminder of the camaraderie and entertainment within the wrestling industry.
