In recent times, WWE NXT has experienced a renewed vigor, enjoying its highest average ratings in two years. This resurgence is increasingly attributed to the introduction of main roster talent and their elaborate storylines, narrowing the gap with AEW Dynamite's viewership.

Former WCW President, Eric Bischoff, has often voiced his belief in NXT's potential to rise to these levels, emphasizing the strategic integration of renowned names into WWE's developmental division. Bischoff, in the recent "Strictly Business" episode, commented on Dominik Mysterio's defense of the North American Championship against Dragon Lee.

This high-stakes match also spotlighted Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, lending support from Lee's corner. "Dominik Mysterio might not be the biggest name in WWE right now, but he's undoubtedly gaining traction," Bischoff remarked.

"Introducing Rey into the ongoing storyline is nothing short of genius." WWE's narrative arcs, especially driven by powerhouse factions like The Bloodline and The Judgment Day, have kept viewers glued to their screens. Their persistent engagement with NXT, notably The Judgment Day's dominant appearances, coupled with the rebranding of superstars such as Mustafa Ali and Dana Brooke, has directed increasing attention to broadcasts from the WWE Performance Center.

Stars Shine Brightest in Ratings Wars

Last week's NXT episode captured an audience of 776,000 and maintained a 0.23 rating within the prized 18-49 demographic for the third consecutive week. Bischoff, drawing comparisons between NXT and Dynamite, underscores the inherent distinction between the two.

He elucidates, "While NXT serves primarily as a developmental platform, AEW consistently showcases their top-tier talent. Although it's commendable for a developmental stage like NXT to attain such ratings, they're bound to rise with the inclusion of established stars." Revisiting his bold prediction for 2023, Bischoff stated, "I had earlier estimated that NXT might surpass Dynamite in viewership by the summer.

Considering they're currently trailing by merely 100,000 viewers, my forecast appears more plausible than ever." Meanwhile, AEW is gearing up for "All In" at Wembley Stadium in a fortnight, showcasing growth in different areas.

Despite this, it doesn't overshadow NXT's commendable strides in upping the competitive ante. The overarching enthusiasm for wrestling remains at an all-time high, promising thrilling times ahead for enthusiasts worldwide.
