The behind-the-scenes discussions about potential successors in the event of an unforeseen circumstance involved not only Khan but his father, Shad, as well.

Tony Khan Nominates Danielson as Successor

Tony Khan shared, "He hasn't been around as much lately due to recovery from an injury.

But in the face of any unforeseen mishap, say I got hit by a bus or became incapacitated in any way, I've communicated to my father that Bryan Danielson is the person to steer the ship." This revelation isn't entirely surprising for industry insiders.

Reports have swirled that Danielson, a former WWE standout, has recently been contributing to AEW's creative think tank. Before joining AEW, Bryan Danielson was an instrumental member of the creative team for WWE's "SmackDown" under the leadership of Vince McMahon.

While specifics about his contributions remain under wraps, it's widely believed that he championed Claudio Castagnoli, popularly known in WWE circles as Cesaro. Danielson pushed for Cesaro, his Blackpool Combat Club teammate, to grab more limelight on WWE broadcasts.
