In an unforeseen twist at Saturday night's "AEW Collision," Ricky Starks found himself facing a completely unexpected opponent at AEW's All Out pay-per-view event. Starks confidently called out Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and challenged him to an intense strap match set to take place at All Out.

Steamboat, in a moment of heightened suspense, appeared to accept the challenge, presenting Starks with a contract which he promptly signed. Steamboat cunningly revealed that he wasn't the "Dragon" in the contract. Instead, Starks' adversary was revealed to be none other than "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson.

Danielson, having been sidelined since June due to injuries sustained in his monumental clash against Kazuchika Okada at Forbidden Door, made a surprise return to AEW. The unexpected switch left Starks reeling, both in and out of his wrestling persona.

Punk's Exit Reshapes Matchup

What makes this turn of events even more fascinating is that inside sources have hinted that Bryan Danielson wasn't the originally planned opponent for Starks at All Out. The outspoken and iconic CM Punk was allegedly set to face Starks.

However, an unfortunate series of events culminating in Punk's dismissal from AEW changed the trajectory of this narrative. The Punk saga unfolded dramatically just hours prior to "Collision." Punk had been suspended after a backstage scuffle involving Jack Perry at AEW's All In event held at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London.

AEW's top brass deemed the incident severe enough to take action. Addressing the fans at the start of "Collision," AEW CEO Tony Khan elaborated on the gravity of the altercation. Khan emphasized how Punk's behavior jeopardized the safety of not only himself but others backstage, necessitating the termination of his contract.

The rapid shifts in the wrestling landscape have left fans eager for the All Out event, where Starks now prepares to face a rejuvenated and ready Bryan Danielson. This sudden matchup promises not only thrilling in-ring action but also an engaging narrative that only the world of professional wrestling can deliver.
