In a stunning display of athletic prowess and determination, reigning AEW World Champion MJF faced adversity head-on during AEW Full Gear 2023. Despite sustaining a dislocated hip in a high-stakes title defense against Jay White, MJF's unwavering spirit shone brightly in the wrestling world.

The injury occurred when MJF executed a daring elbow drop from the ring to the floor, a moment that saw the announce table collapsing under White. This high-risk maneuver was not only a testament to MJF's dedication to the sport but also a reflection of his keen awareness of the audience's expectations.

As reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, "The Salt of the Earth" believed that the move was essential to captivate the crowd fully. However, this spectacular feat came at a cost. The elbow drop, described as an "absolute killer" on the hip, led to MJF's hip being dislocated, a painful setback for the champion.

Courageously, he had his hip popped back into place following the grueling match, demonstrating a remarkable level of resilience.

MJF's Dual Injuries

Compounding his challenges, MJF is also grappling with a shoulder injury, exacerbated by a top rope uranage.

This double injury predicament highlights the physical demands and risks associated with professional wrestling, especially at the high level at which MJF competes. Adding to the drama of AEW Full Gear, MJF was part of an injury angle during the Zero Hour pre-show.

After a brutal steel chair attack by The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn), he was whisked away in an ambulance. Yet, in a twist befitting a champion, MJF made a triumphant return later that night, driving back into the arena in the same ambulance, to valiantly defend his title.

This narrative twist not only added depth to the event but also showcased MJF's character and story-building abilities. Despite these setbacks, MJF's commitment to his craft was evident on the Thanksgiving Eve episode of "AEW Dynamite" in Chicago, Illinois.

Appearing in the ring alongside Adam Cole, he confronted the mystery devil on the titantron and boldly agreed to defend his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at the upcoming inaugural AEW Worlds End pay-per-view on December 30.

MJF's journey is a compelling story of a wrestler pushing the limits of his body and spirit. His ability to perform under immense physical strain and his dedication to entertaining the fans continue to solidify his status as a premier talent in the wrestling world.

As AEW Worlds End approaches, fans eagerly anticipate his next chapter, a testament to his enduring appeal and the captivating narratives he weaves within the squared circle.
