Jon Moxley is the current IWGP United States Champion. New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Jon will not be appearing at the NJPW G1 Climax 29 event that will be taking place in Dallas, Texas on the 6th of July at the American Airlines Center.
The event will feature A Block and B Block. Moxley will be part of the B block, which will kick off on the 13th of July in Tokyo. Moxley wasn’t previously announced for the event, but on Monday NJPW announced that he would be a part of the event.
Moxley will not be present at the G1 Climax 29 press conference that will take place one day before the actual event. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer reported that Moxley is forced to stay out of the event. He cannot appear at the G1 Climax as his AEW contract does not allow him to be a part of it.
Moxley cannot appear for any other wrestling promotion inside the U.S. as AEW has exclusive right to Moxley for it. Moxley, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho can appear at NJPW events, only if they take place outside of the U.S. Of course, the AEW and NJPW can work together in the future and that can change things.
Moxley will be making his All Elite Wrestling debut at AEW Fyter Fest which will take place on the 29th of June at Daytona Beach, Florida. He will wrestle Joey Janela.
