Booker T Criticizes AEW Star's Signature Move

In the high-octane world of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), few stars shine with the daredevilry of Darby Allin, known for his breathtaking and often perilous stunts in the ring. As a former TNT and AEW Tag Team Champion, Allin has both amazed and alarmed fans with his fearless performances.

Despite his popularity, wrestling icon and WWE veteran Booker T has voiced concerns over Allin’s approach to the sport. During a recent episode of his "Hall of Fame" podcast, Booker T shared his apprehensions about Allin's notorious finisher, the Coffin Drop, which he witnessed long before Allin’s AEW days.

"The first time I saw him perform the Coffin Drop at a Northeast Championship Wrestling event, I couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his mind," Booker T recounted. His worries for Allin have only grown, especially after seeing him sidelined with a leg injury that even thwarted his plans to climb Mount Everest.

"He’s certainly not short on courage, but at what cost?" Booker T pondered. Their conversation at a recent convention only heightened Booker T’s concerns. When he inquired if Allin might consider moderating his in-ring exploits, the response was nonchalant.

"Ah man, you know me," Allin replied, underscoring his relentless spirit. Booker T, reflecting on his own illustrious career and the inevitable physical toll it took, expressed a broader concern for the younger generation of wrestlers.

"It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and push the limits, but they need to think about the long-term impacts," he advised.

Risks of High-Flying Stunts

Booker T elaborated on the potential consequences of such high-risk behavior, emphasizing that while the immediate thrill might be exhilarating, the aftermath could be regrettable.

"One day they'll wake up in pain and wish they had dialed it back," he warned, hoping his words might encourage younger talents to adopt a more sustainable approach without compromising the electrifying performances fans have come to expect.

As the wrestling world continues to evolve, the dialogue between its seasoned veterans and audacious newcomers like Allin remains crucial. It’s a reminder that in the pursuit of entertainment and glory, the safety and longevity of the athletes must also be a priority.

Booker T’s sage advice underscores a veteran’s insight into a sport that is as punishing as it is rewarding.
