The two are due to face each other in a coveted Stampede Street Fight on next week's episode of "AEW Dynamite." This high-stakes showdown, one of only three the two campains have had, is slated for Wednesday in Calgary. The news was revealed on All Elite Wrestling social media, putting Jericho in direct contrast with his "Learning Tree" aiders and abetters Big Bill and Bryan Keith against the dominant trio of Joe, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata.

Being a Stampede Street Fight that literally said it all in the official release of what was at stake. Jericho vs Joe. Then, on #AEWDynamite this Wednesday 7/10 from Calgary the blood feud between Samoa Joe and Chris Jericho boils over when they face off in a Stampede Street Fight.

Jericho vs. Joe History

The former is a big singles bout for both Jericho and Joe, who met in 2017 as WWE Superstars. Over their previous, brief history together (each contest went less than 10 minutes), Joe beat Jeff. When these two first clashed on "WWE Raw," Jericho still had the United States Championship and Joe won by count-out.

The nail in the coffin so to speak was when Joe hit Jericho with the Coquina Clutch on the outside. Their next meeting was a result of Jericho wanting payback for losing his title to Kevin Owens at WrestleMania. Jericho didn't win that match, but he did subsequently regain the U.S.

title at Payback before losing it back to Owens on WWE SmackDown and setting off for a lengthy tour with his rock band Fozzy. The first time they met, and now, as they're about to face each other again, there are certain similarities in dynamics.

The FTW Champion Jericho makes his way down the aisle, but this contest is not for his title against Joe. The match also follows HOOK's pin over Jericho at Forbidden Door, teasing a future title shot.
