AEW Darby Allin, recently in an interview with Inside The Ropes, did not shy away from sulking on bygone dates. The interview comes in the course of the preparations by Allin to face Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at the All In pay-per-view in London in a Coffin Match. This match has certainly been a long-awaited one given the rivalry that exists between Allin and Perry.
Looking back at the All In 2023 event, Allin did not hide his anger in relation to how Perry performed during his match with HOOK. That night Perry gained notoriety after yelling at CM Punk during the show, which later led to an altercation in the locker room. This melee incident and the subsequent fights led to CM Punk’s exit from AEW and move back to WWE.
Allin Calls Perry Ungrateful
Allin did not keep his feelings of discontent to himself, especially when it came to Perry's actions during the affair. “I think the best thing is when you can grab stuff that you are actually passionate about,” Allin said. “And the fact that he did what he did last year was annoying. Super freaking annoying because you think about over 80 thousand fans, and then you’re gonna go in business for yourself. There are literally people who would give anything to be in that position, people who will never get to ever do that, and then you’re doing that. So yes, I would always say that ‘that s**t pissed me off’. It pissed quite a few. It’s just ungrateful.”
Tensions between Allin and Perry have been simmering for the entirety of 2024, culminating in a match at All In 2024.
Indeed, Allin has been undefeated in Coffin Matches for practically the complete five years he has been active in AEW. But Perry, too, has a plus in his only Coffin Match in AEW and it is this factor that is likely to spice this encounter even more. As fans of wrestling observe this, the outcome of this match is likely to have an outcome for both spoofers who tend to grow the rivalry.
