Ricochet, who has recently joined the AEW has come in and has been winning over Kyle Fletcher and Sammy Guevara among others. His high-flying actions earned the interest of AEW International Champion Will Ospreay. Apart from performing well in AEW, Ricochet is taking advantage of the company’s non-exclusivity to pursue other wrestling promotions. He is expected to join GLEAT on October 6 for the event in Osaka, Japan.
In a recent episode of the “Babyfaces” podcast, where Ricochet was a guest, he said that he would really like to go back to New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). He managed to praise AEW for their partnership with NJPW, which would allow him to appear in more NJPW shows. In the conversation with the website, he shared his plans, which have included achieving new goals and records in the wrestling company.
Ricochet Targets G1 Climax
“I’m one up on my Best of the Super Juniors victory, so it’s about time I raise my ambitions to G1,” Ricochet told the podcast. “Actually, obviously, there’s still a lot of things in New Japan that I didn’t get to accomplish that I still plan on accomplishing.”
NJPW and Ricochet, up to this point, have a fruitful relationship full of belly jewels. First, he won the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament (i.e., 2014), featuring a roster of some of the best in the industry, including The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Jushin Liger, and others. In the time frame 2016-2017, several award-winning streaks were reported. He held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and NEVER Open weight Six-Man Tag Team Championship three times each. He claims to have held the same titles in the same time frame and with the same number of successes. Notable partnerships involved Matt Sydal (AEW current), Satoshi Kojima, Ryusuke Taguchi, and NJPW president Hiroshi Tanahashi.
