At 2024 AEW WrestleDream, there was an absurd main event between world champion Bryan Danielson and his huge challenger Jon Moxley, with the two once great allies within the Blackpool Combat Club. On that occasion, the American Dragon unfortunately lost the belt to Jon Moxley and not only because he had already announced that whoever managed to take it away from him, after winning against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In, would also wipe out his full-time career, making him instead a part-timer, a choice necessary also because of his physical condition.

The sad thing is that the BCC continued to attack Bryan Danielson heavily even after the match, with the AEW refusing to offer the images to the public, with fans and wrestlers babyface of the federation who have witnessed upset at everything. In a new update by Fightful Select, we’ve learned several details about what happened to AEW WrestleDream and the impact that these events will have on the rest of American Dragon’s career.
In fact, the report reads that it was directly Bryan Danielson who chose Jon Moxley as the one who should have taken him out of business as a full-time. If we talk about his health, the doctors strongly opposed to have him in the previous months in Blood & Guts, even though he had been allowed to fight in normal matches. Danielson himself would actually admit that maybe it was not necessary to fight in some matches that brought him up to WrestleDream.
Fightful also provided some information on the status of Danielson’s contract, saying that he has been in AEW for months without a permanent contract as a talent in the ring and that he has not signed another one yet. This means that he is indeed a free agent although the AEW hopes that he will be able to fight for them occasionally, and that he can resume his duties backstage once he has rested and is ready. Before then, however, the wrestler must solve the health problems he has, especially those related to his neck.

AEW doesn't stop
Meanwhile - after the debut of MVP and Shelton Benjamin in All Elite Wrestling - there was much talk about the arrival of Bobby Lashley, recently left from WWE without a contractual renewal, to reform with them the Hurt Business. In a new update by Fightful Select, reported by WrestleTalk, we learn that although wrestling legend Bobby Lashley did not show up at AEW WrestleDream, he has definitely signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling, and that there is a logical explanation behind the delay of his debut.

In fact during the show there was a segment where Swerve Strickland, returning after the heavy defeat against Bryan Danielson at AEW All In, refused the offer to work with MVP and Shelton Benjamin to stay with Prince Nana, and since the segment also included a beating of the former champion, AEW thought about it and preferred not to have two big beatings in one show, given what happened to Bryan Danielson, and so Bobby Lashley was not involved. In the report it was also read that the former WWE did not even find backstage at AEW WrestleDream.
