Jamie Hayter, the tough Brit, adored by the fans of AEW, is back on the sidelines, and the next time she will work out in the ring could be as long as expected.

Hayter appeared to be back in the groove after returning triumphantly in 2024 following a brutal 15-month hiatus to deal with two herniated discs, but was derailed at Double or Nothing 2025, losing to Mercedes Mone in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup.

Only a few days after, during an episode of Dynamite on May 28, she was assaulted off-screen by a newcomer in the world of AEW, Thekla a format creatively shot with the lights in the arena turned off, with no Hayter medically unfit to wrestle.

Although Hayter told Fightful Select that she was fine, AEW sources said she was not yet cleared to wrestle. The nature of her condition was not disclosed and there was no apparent schedule for her return.

This is another blow to the previous AEW Women's World Champion who had once suffered a critical injury in the form of back trauma which brought her very close to retirement.

A Career Marked by Resilience

The path of Hayter has not been too easy. She has a back injury in 2023 which made her bedridden and unable to do any simple work and she has thought of retirement.

She returned triumphantly at All In 2024 in London following a long journey to get back to wrestling and to renew her rivalry with Saraya by making a celebrated comeback and once again asserting herself as a force in the AEW women division.

But fans are once again concerned over her lack of appearances in the recent past. According to AEW sources, in case she was available, she would stand out as a big member of the company which speaks to her significance to the company.

However, with no official news posted on her health or even the time of her return, fans are in a wait-and-see mood, just hoping that she will soon get better.
