Sammy Guevara is working for All Elite Wrestling at the moment. Before joining AEW, he was a famous indie wrestler and was able to generate a huge fan base for himself. That is the reason why he was contacted by AEW and he started working for him.
Talking to an independent reporter, he spoke about AEW. He stated that he was contacted by them but didn’t reveal the name of the person that contacted him. "I was in Japan - I [am going to] tell you the story without telling you his name," Sammy explained.
"So, the press conference happened and I saw all the people that were there, and I was like, 'Damn, I feel like they are going to reach out to me.' They hadn't yet. I had one conversation with one of the members of the upper-tier guys at a show and he asked me what I was doing mid-January” “So I'm in Japan, that happens, and I go to sleep.
I wake up in the morning, and I get a DM on Twitter and it's like, 'What's your contract status?'" Sammy is not considered one of the top AEW wrestlers in the current roster but he is a neat addition.
The locker room has Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes and Adam Page, and they are definitely bigger stars that Sammy at the moment.
