The Wednesday Night Wars have begun a new era in the world of professional wrestling. The Monday Night Wars was the last time we saw the WWE battle another wrestling promotion for ratings. Now, it is the AEW vs the WWE in the Wednesday Night Wars!
The WWE has moved NXT to the USA Network and airs the show on Wednesday at 8pm ET. The WWE believes that NXT can beat AEW Dynamite which takes place at the same time and on the same day. So far, the WWE is losing the Wednesday Night Wars, and might lose the entire battle if AEW keeps on growing as fast as it is right now.
This week, the second episode of AEW Dynamite took place. AEW Dynamite still beat WWE NXT this week. The episode drew 150,000 viewers on TSN2 in Canada. Last week drew 109,000 viewers. This is a 38% increase. The AEW is getting popular in Canada it seems.
The Dynamite replay was aired at 10pm ET on TNT. That drew 363,000 viewers, according to PWTorch. Last week’s replay drew 423,000 viewers. So the replay viewership number dropped by 14%. As previously mentioned, AEW Dynamite beat WWE NXT for the second time in a row.
