For several months now, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has also been forced to record shows behind closed doors, depriving itself of the great heat of the public. Tony Khan's company managed to get listed on the essential business activities in Florida, as happened for Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and confirmed the airing of Double or Nothing on Saturday 23 May.
One of the big matches scheduled for the Pay-Per-View will be the "Casino Ladder Match", giving away a shot at the AEW world title, currently held by Jon Moxley. At the moment several participants have already been announced, but the last one will remain a surprise and will be revealed exclusively during the event.
Mike Johnson, a well-known journalist from PWInsider, has intervened on the matter, who has speculated that the mysterious wrestler may be none other than Drew Gulak, recently released by WWE. The ex-Cruiserweight Champion, in fact, decided of his own free will not to renew the contract with Vince McMahon's company and therefore is free to fight elsewhere immediately, unlike the wrestlers fired en masse a few weeks ago, who instead must submit to the clause of not competition that lasts until mid-July.
Gulak's whose last WWE match came at the Intercontinental Championship Tournament that he lost in the quarter-finals to Daniel Bryan. After the match, responding to Bryan's tweet complimenting him, Gulak tweeted, "Yes, #ThankYouBryan!
[🙏] A tournament requires great strength. Today let's work on our shoulders with what I like to call #Gulakmetrics! You can do this simple exercise anywhere! All you need is an immovable object."
