On Saturday's Pay-Per-View (PPV) Double Or Nothing, former boxing champion Mike Tyson announced All Elite Wrestling's (AEW) new event, the TNT Championship, belt for which Cody Rhodes and Lance Archer competed. Before the start of the PPV, AEW President Tony Khan published a photo with a group of characters from the federation and with Mike Tyson in the centre, present in the photo with the new belt.
Through a tweet, Canadian wrestler Chris Jericho commented on the photo by ordering Khan to keep Tyson away from him and remembering the date of January 11, 2010. Meanwhile, the inaugural TNT championship was won by Rhodes.
Chris Jericho Serves a Reminder
The date, the champion of Winnipeg was referring to deals with a particular episode of his career and that still many WWE fans remember. Jericho fought in a Tag Team match paired with Mike Tyson and against the D-Generation-X, but during the challenge Tyson, after giving him the change, betrayed him by hitting him and allying himself with the Triple H group that conquered the victory.
Could this be the beginning of a sensational new feud in AEW? We will find out only in the coming weeks... Meanwhile, here is Jericho's tweet, a reply to Tony Khan's tweet. Khan said, "We’re minutes from our biggest show of the year #AEW Double or Nothing!
It’ll be one of the best PPVs you’ve seen in a long time, I promise, it’s a great card with huge wrestling matches, some great stories + the return to PPV of @MikeTyson! Order if you can, you won’t regret it!" To this, Chris Jericho replied, "Keep @miketyson away from me Khan. I still haven’t forgotten January 11, 2010... and I never will."
