In the last few hours, a very heated and controversial social debate arose between the founder of the AEW (All Elite Wrestling) Tony Khan and Linda Hogan, ex-wife of the Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) legend Hulk Hogan.
After a "racist" tweet with different xenophobic outlines from Hulk Hogan's ex-wife, Tony Khan said that the woman is officially banned from any show in his company. It is now known that Tony Khan has always paid close attention to what is happening in the world of social media and does not accept any form of racism or bigotry.
The situation in America is really very problematic given the recent George Floyd case, a problem that highlighted all the racism still present in the stars and stripes society. Linda Hogan published a tweet where she criticized the African-American community and at a time like this she was strewn with criticism.
For the record, she said: "When I see looting, I notice that they are all African-American people. If they really want to be heard, they need to be civilized first." Hogan later deleted that tweet. However, despite her deleting, her statement had repercussions.
Precedents set by Hulk Hogan and Tony Khan's reply
Replying to Linda Hogan's tweet, Khan said, "You’ve now joined your husband in being banned from all AEW shows. Congratulations." There is already a record of racism on the part of the Hogan family.
WWE legend and Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was surrounded by controversy a few years ago for some racist comments about black people. In the past, too, he was attacked by Khan who declared that Hulk Hogan was not welcome in his company.
This is a completely different situation compared to WWE where Hulk Hogan has been welcomed again in recent times after having initially been temporarily banned in Stamford precisely for the reasons mentioned above. Hulk Hogan's ex-wife, meanwhile, is also a vocal supporter of US President Donald Trump.
In a tweet posted in May, she applauded Trump for taking the still-unproven medicine Hydrochroloquine as a preventive measure from contracting the virus. Hulk Hogan's ex-wife's tweet said, "Trump taking hydroxychloroquine: 'A leap that should not be taken casually'@realDonaldTrump is a REAL MAN!
He’s taking it and if he busts or can’t handle it at least he knows with the rest of the American public is going to do and I respect him for trying it first!"
