Why is AEW Allowed to Use FTW Title?

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is allowed to use the FTW Title even though the WWE owns the ECW! Tonight on Fyter Fest, the FTW title made on appearance on AEW Dynamite which was aired on TNT. Taz was the man that brought the FTW title and presented it to Brian Cage.

This was the things that Tony Khan spoke about which would send shockwaves through the world of professional wrestling.

AEW is allowed to Use the FTW Title?

The FTW title is actually Taz’s property. He designed and created it.

The ECW never owned the FTW title. That is the reason why WWE does not own the FTW title. This is according to PWInsider. Taz also holds the copyright, so he can do whatever he wants with it. Cage now holds the FTW title belt! Taz wanted Cage to have tremendous momentum when going to face Jon Moxley, who is the current AEW World Champion.

The match will take place at Fight for The Fallen. Taz used that title during his ECW title run-in 1998 and 1999. Sabu was the only other person that held the title. Taz was an extremely popular ECW wrestler and had a hand in writing the storylines for the popular promotion.

ECW was the only promotion that was really hardcore for their time. All of their matches were basically No Holds Barred. AEW is trying to re-capture the hardcore matches the ECW used to hold. This is probably AEW’s message to fans that true hardcore wrestling can only be found at AEW.

Cage posted a picture of the title on his Instagram. "New FTW World heavyweight champion. The baddest son of a b---h in wrestling has just been crowned. And it's a world champion that shows up no matter what and ready to fight.

And also not some special attraction that makes an appearance here and there. The Machine is here to stay and is kicking ass, taking names, and collecting one more title next week. And if you don't like it, GFY. #machine #newchamp #ftw #taz #baddestSOB #renegades--t," he wrote.

Jon Moxley was known as Dean Ambrose in WWE. He is one of AEW’s top stars but his wife, Renee Young, recently tested positive for COVID 19. Since he has been in contact with her, he decided to stay away from other AEW wrestlers to negate any changes of infecting them as he might be carrying the virus right now.
