NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal will be making his AEW debut soon. He spoke about what to expect during his AEW debut with Dan Belston of the ASsociated Press. Shaq will face the team of Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet. His partner will be Jade Cargill.

Shaq started by saying that he will definitely win the match as he has professional wrestling experience.

“Oh, I’m winning,” Shaq said.

“Guaranteed”. The match was made when Cargill started taunting Cody Rhodes in November. Cargill stated that Shaq is the real giant killer. Shaq then commented on TNT’s Inside The NBA on this. He told Cody to set up the fight and name the place where they can settle things in the ring.

During the AP interview, Shaq stated that he never says “No” to a challenge. Shaq’s last big appearance inside a professional wrestling ring was during WrestleMania 32. He participated in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royale “I’m the type, I can never back down from a challenge,” Shaq said.

“I’m not a professional wrestler, but I’ve been in a match before. I’ve got a lot of moves in my arsenal. When you step inside somebody’s world, you have to stick to what you’re masterful at.

I’m not acrobatic. I’m not going to be jumping off the ropes. I’m coming with the power game. When I get hands on him, I’m going to display this power”. Shaq stated that he visited The Nightmare Factory in Norcross.

He stated that he has very little in-ring training. “I’m the type that if I have a look and see you do it, I got it,” he said. All Elite Wrestling is the only wrestling promotion in the world that can come close to beating WWE, but they still have a long way to go.

AEW has a number of legendary wrestlers currently working for them and they have a huge chance to attract more people with the presence of Shaquille O'Neal, who has made appearances in movies and even had exhibition BJJ matches in the past.

AEW will also be debuting legendary wrestler Sting this week. AEW is currently fighting WWE NXT every Wednesday night and many people believe that AEW will win the Wednesday Night Wars if they continue putting out great shows as they have recently.
