Chris Jericho on AEW vs WWE Battle Ending

Chris Jericho is one of AEW’s top stars, and he recently spoke about the AEW vs WWE battle. The battle recently ended when WWE moved NXT to Tuesday Nights. Before that, AEW Dynamite and NXT used to take place every Wednesday Night.

The two brands started fighting each other for rating back in 2019. That began the era called the Wednesday Night Wars. Chris Jericho spoke about the war and his interview with Steve Austin on TV Insider. According to Jericho, Vince McMahon may have second-guessed Jericho’s appearance on Steve Austin’s podcast, especially when the ratings for that show came out.

Chris Jericho Speaks About His Interview With Steve Austin

The interview with Steve Austin aired on Peacock and the WWE Network during the WrestleMania 37 weekend. Jericho was asked whether the interview will lead to more collaborations between AEW and WWE.

“It was lightning in a bottle sort of thing with [respective company heads] Vince McMahon and Tony Khan giving their approval,” Jericho said. “I think it was also well-timed. The Peacock relationship with WWE was just starting.

They wanted something huge out of the gate. It was perfect for us considering AEW had its first unopposed show [without NXT]. “Once that big Dynamite rating came in though, I think Vince may have had a little bit of second-guessing.

Would they do it again? Maybe. I don’t know if you can find anyone with respect and goodwill on both sides that would allow that. If they don’t do it again, it was one of the coolest moments in wrestling history”.

Chris Jericho is currently working at AEW and he is part of a very popular AEW group called The Inner Circle. At AEW, he managed to capture the AEW World Title, being the first-ever wrestler to do so. At AEW, he has fought some of their best stars.
