NJPW organizes a huge event

For the first time in history, two Japanese professional wrestling companies join forces to create a single event. In fact, the NJPW and Stardom, both characterized by the presence of only men and only women in their respective rosters, have decided to collaborate.

The NJPW x Stardom special event will be held at Tokyo's Ariake Arena on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Bushiroad is the parent company of both promotions. Bushiroad acquired Stardom in October 2019. Stardom, whose official name is World Wonder Ring Stardom was started nine years before this takeover, in 2010, in the month of September, by three Japanese wrestling stalwarts, Nanae Takahashi, Fuka Kakimoto and Rossy Ogawa.

Of course, we remind you that some women's Stardom matches have been included in the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom in the last three years, with this year marking the first time a Stardom match is on the main card instead of the pre-show.

New agreement for NJPW

The joint event was announced at a press conference this week, which celebrates Bushiroad's 15 years. The press conference was attended by Hiroshi Tanahashi, The Great-O-Khan, Mayu Iwatani and Starlight Kid.

"For the first time ever, NJPW and STARDOM will join forces for a joint full card in Tokyo's Ariake Arena. Newly [built] for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, the 15,000-seat venue will house both companies for the first time for this historic event", wrote the NJPW on its social networks.

"Special STARDOM showcases highlighted the Wrestle Kingdom pre-show, as well as Wrestle Grand Slam at the MetLife Dome in 2021. STARDOM was part of the main card at the Wrestle Kingdom 16 night 2 on January 5, but now both companies will present their best for a special joint card.

What will happen on November 20th?" Obviously, this is great news, with Japanese women's wrestling becoming more and more popular in the western part, deservedly given the talent of the Joshi.
