Glenn Gilbertti faced Scarlett Bordeaux in Impact Wrestling's Against All Odds event in Las Vegas on 29th March. Ahead of the much-awaited intergender event, Gilbertti, who is more popularly known as Disco Inferno, said that he was happy to be participating in the match.
In a podcast episode of WINCLY that came out before the match, Gilbertti said, "They're putting me in this match and I have no problem with it. Basically, whatever creative they have for me, I'll knock it out of the park.
As you can see, the response from my performances on the show these past few weeks have been overwhelmingly positive, despite the fact that I'm one of the more hated people in the business these days." Gilbertti's statements are quite a turnaround from his earlier comments that he had made on WINCLY in which he had said that such intergender matches were more of a "cultural issue" and that wrestling should keep to its traditionality of men engaging with men, and women with women.
At that time, Gilbertti had also said that men deserved to be the "main event" on events' cards because the men's matches looked better than the women's line-up. Given his recent comments, one guesses Gilbertti's opinions have undergone a sea change much like everyone else's.
