On Sunday the WWE Network presented the second edition of NXT TakeOver: In Your House, the new special event on the NXT roster. Last year the main event of this show saw Io Shirai win the NXT Women's Championship after a spectacular contest against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, but this year the black and gold brand seems to want to do things even bigger.
The main event of this TakeOver was a Fatal 5-Way valid for the NXT Championship, which will force the champion Karrion Kross to defend the belt against four very fierce opponents: Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole.
The match was sanctioned after it was not possible to determine a single contender, especially due to the return of Adam Cole, who immediately aimed at the reigning champion. In the end it was Kross who asked GM William Regal to be able to face everyone on the same evening, at TakeOver, in a match that promises to be crackling.
New NXT women's champion Raquel Gonzalez will also be forced to defend her belt. Her challenger will be Ember Moon, an athlete who has already held the NXT Women's Championship in the past, indeed, Ember Moon is the first woman to have won both the single and duo titles at NXT.
The rivalry between these two challengers was born right within the duo division, after Ember Moon decided to avenge her tag team partner Shotzi Blackheart, who was injured precisely because of an attack by the reigning champion.
NXT TakeOver: In Your House took place on Sunday
NXT TakeOver: In Your House is the 29th installment in the ‘In Your House’ series and the first since St. Valentine's Day Massacre: In Your House which took place way back in February 1999.
It is the upcoming professional wrestling show under the NXT brand which will be produced by WWE. The show is scheduled to take place on June 13, 2021 at WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. In this TakeOver a very special belt will also be up for grabs: we are talking about the Million Dollar Championship of the legendary Ted Dibiase, which was used as a symbol of his legacy for the new generations.
The contenders were L.A. Knight and Cameron Grimes, who have been fighting for weeks for the attention of the Million Dollar Man since the latter thwarted Cameron Grimes' investments. In addition, this match will have a special stipulation: it will be a Ladder Match.
Among the titles up for grabs we also find the NXT Tag Team Championships and the NXT North American Championship, respectively held by MSK and Bronson Reed. These three wrestlers will join forces to take on the Legado of the Phantom in a Winners Take All Match.
Finally, the enigmatic world of Tian Sha will make its TakeOver debut when Xia Li gets off on veteran Mercedes Martinez. Don't miss NXT TakeOver: In Your House, live on WWE Network on the night of Sunday June 13th to Monday 14th.
