NXT Women’s Tag Match: Io Shirai & Zoey Stark vs Catanzaro & Carter; The match sees the champions in control with the opponents who try them all to bring home the result but without succeeding. Shirai, after having suffered the offensive of the opponents, engages in a German suplex and then launches into a running elbow smash at the base of the post.
The Stark then decides to make the change, annoying Shirai. The Japanese, however, does not know that the worst of her is yet to come with the Stark who involuntarily ends up hitting her sending her off the ring.
Io Shirai & Zoey Stark def.
Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter
Zoey Stark and Kacy kicked off the match, but Io Shirai and Carter were tagged in early on. Io dominated, and Stark asked for a tag, but Shirai turned her down before being taken down by Carter.
Carter hit a dropkick splash combo on the champs before Stark hit a big kick to her jaw and tagged in Shirai. Kacy ran interference, but Io dodged the attacks before getting a missile dropkick for a near fall. Carter and Catanzaro got a close count off the combined finisher before Shirai got the knees in the corner on Carter.
Carter then tries to take advantage of the situation together with Kacy by engaging in a couple maneuver that sees Catanzaro land on the Stark with a splash which is then followed by an attempt to pin. Shirai thinks that a dropkick pushes Carter against Catanzaro, interrupting the pin.
Stark then decides to push the accelerator to score the Feast Your Eyes and then give the change to Shirai who engages in a moonsault which she follows the final pin. Result: Io Shirai and Zoey Stark pinned their rivals for victory, confirming themselves as NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Post-match Carter Catanzaro really understands what it means "there is never a limit to the worst" as they are attacked from behind by Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jane. On Raw, Lashley and Orton kicked off the show where both of them agreed to have a match at Extreme Rules, where Lashley will put the WWE Championship on the line.
Therefore, Randy Orton has the chance to revive his former glory as WWE Champion by defeating Lashley. He becomes a double champion if at the end of Extreme Rules he’s still the WWE Raw Tag Team Champion as well.
