One of the most important characters of the NXT backstage, is undoubtedly Shawn Michaels, the right-hand man of Triple H for years now, as well as his lifelong best friend, who together with the WWE COO, wanted to reform this NXT, despite the pressures of Vince McMahon on this, bringing forward the Superstars of the future, in a completely innovative, fresh and intelligent way.
In fact, among the managerial part of NXT, in the last period the character who dominated it was HBK, also given the absence of HHH, who's currently convalescing after a heart problem. In the last episode of NXT, we saw how Carmelo Hayes won the secondary title of the roster, or the North-American Championship, with HBK who was apparently the main proponent of the thing, because he would be a great admirer of the boy and his talents, so much so that he considers it a very important future project for the company.
Backstage news on Shawn Michaels
As reported by the well-known site Fightful, in his famous podcast, the Fightful Select, Carmelo Hayes would be a real "personal project of Shawn Michaels", with the reporters of the site who in fact reported: "Carmelo Hayes impressed very influential people at NXT and the Performance Center.
We are told by some sources at the Performance Center, that Carmelo Hayes has been taken under the wing of Shawn Michaels, who has been keeping an eye on him for some time and is seen as a very big future project by him and many other executives.
Hayes has already had the compliments of many, but the match against Kushida in early June opened the door to many opportunities, including the match immediately after arriving with Adam Cole. Another major NXT source believes Shawn Michaels sees a lot in Carmelo Hayes, which would also explain the celebratory photo taken of the two, right after Hayes won the title of NXT North-American Champion."
During an episode of RAW in May 2006, The Spirit Squad (Johnny, Kenny, Mikey, Mitch, and Nicky) defeated John Cena and Shawn Michaels in a handicap match. On one particular day, Jeter drank a Pina Colada-flavored protein shake after going to the gym.
John Cena, however, warned him about the aftereffects of ingesting the same. Unfortunately, this advice had come too late, as The Spirit Squad member soon paid the price for it in a gas station restroom.
