Now is the time for a match involving one of the greatest NXT champions and one with the best prospects. SINGLES MATCH: Me Shirai vs Tiffany Stratton; Obviously we are witnessing a very pleasant match thanks also to the excellent management of Io.
Tiffany obviously teases her opponent with her unpleasant demeanor. Shirai does not take it very well and therefore decides to press the accelerator on her, crushing her to the ground with a facebuster. Tiffany tries to bring the match back to her side even going so far as to attempt the pin.
Fans did not take kindly to WALTER's sudden transition into GUNTHER, as it seemed like WWE was shunning The Ring General's previous accomplishments. He already has an established legacy in NXT UK, which makes this move frustrating.
WALTER has changed his name
The WWE Universe speculated WALTER would continue his dominant reign of 870 days, but Ilja had other plans. However, the match was not a walk in the park for the newly crowned champion. Ilja had answers for every attack that Walter brought to him.
He literally used his body as a weapon to gain the upper hand in the match. This week saw an attempt to explain it, with GUNTHER saying he and Imperium are closing the door on the past. It remains to be seen how the future pans out for them.
Hopefully, the European trio is booked well beyond their time on the WWE NXT. Obviously, I don't fit in and after a blow to her face, she scores a running knee smash followed by a bodyslam and her now patented moonsault. Result: Io Shirai's pinfall.
So here we are at the last match of the evening that sees up for grabs the chance to challenge NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes. Walter is not human. At 6’4, weighing nearly 300 pounds, he’s the most legitimate wrestler in the world.
His chops split the announcer’s table in half and caved in the meatiest chests. However, one man came exceptionally close to ending his reign as NXT UK Champion. On October 29, 2020, Walter and Ilja Dragunov met in the empty BT Sport studio to assemble a modern-day classic.
For twenty-five minutes, Walter and Dragunov beat the living daylights out of each other. While the WWE Thunderdome is a significant feature, the empty arena became the perfect environment for this match, as every chop, kick, uppercut and slam reverberated and echoed across the arena.
