NXT: Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray won

SINGLES MATCH: Tiffany Stratton vs Fallon Henley; we are witnessing an interesting match with both athletes who have no intention of giving up. Everything seems ready for Tiffany's victory when suddenly the arena is filled with smoke.

The veteran WWE NXT tag team of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter competed against Kay Lee Ray & Io Shirai in the second semi-final of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. Catanzaro and Carter used their speed and athleticism to stay on top of the match for some time.

Shirai took control of the match with some top moves to stun her opponents.

Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter vs. Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai

Kay Lee Ray and Io Shirai have proven to be a good team in the tournament. They are now the favorites to win it and challenge Toxic Attraction for the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Catanzaro and Carter is another good team that deserves a lot more. The company should look to put the tag titles on the two at some point. The referee gets distracted trying to understand what is happening thus turning his back on the action and allowing Sarray to hit poor Tiffany from behind.

Fallon then takes the opportunity to score the shining wizard with which she brings the dispute home. Result: Fallon Henley pinfall victory. Io Shirai has been the MVP of the NXT Women’s division for most of 2020. Since winning the title at Takeover: In Your House, she has proudly and valiantly defended her title.

Rhea Ripley, Dakota Kai, Candice Le Rae, Shotzi Blackheart- all have fallen at the hands of Shirai. Only one person in the women’s division has not yet been pinned by Shirai. Raquel Gonzalez might just be Dakota Kai’s bodyguard, but in a short amount of time, she turned herself into the most daunting superstar in NXT.

Gonzalez suffered her first loss in NXT to Rhea Ripley at Halloween Havoc, which led to Ripley challenging Io for the title. Ripley lost and is effectively out of the title picture for some time. Candice Le Rae has lost to Shirai too many times to be a legitimate threat to Shirai’s reign.

Gonzalez winning the title is a massive opportunity for NXT to build up some new babyfaces. Ember Moon and Toni Storm can be exciting title defenses for the monstrous Gonzalez. She can even redeem her loss to Rhea Ripley and establish herself as the undisputed monarch of the NXT Women’s division.

Wendy Choo and Cora Jade kicked off the match and Choo was napping, letting Jade sneak in a tag. Raquel Gonzalez came in and missed an elbow drop before tagging Jade back in. Dakota Kai came in and isolated Jade in the ring while we saw Mandy Rose was alone in the viewing box.
