Hello everyone and welcome back to the usual NXT 2.0 appointment. The evening starts in an electrifying way with a special edition of the MizTv featuring the NXT Champion Dolph Ziggler accompanied by Bobby Roode. The two are then joined by LA Knight who, without too many words, launches a challenge to the champion.
The challenge is accepted, in fact in the main event the two will face each other with the title at stake. The first match of the evening is a special stipulation, in fact the winner will win a place in the Stand And Deliver ladder match with the NXT North American Championship up for grabs.
Cameron Grimes and Santos Escobar competed in the first qualifier for the NXT North American Championship ladder match at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver. Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams joined the commentary to watch the action unfold.
Cameron Grimes and Santos Escobar competed
SINGLES MATCH: Cameron Grimes vs Santos Escobar; We are witnessing a very high intensity match with the two athletes who have no intention of giving up an inch. Escobar also exploits his stable without being able to obtain great results.
Grimes in fact seems to be in full control of the match before being shot down by a flying codebreaker which is followed, however, by only a count of 2. The dispute continues with Grimes who seems to be one step away from victory ready to score the Caveman who is however promptly interrupted by Escobar who responds with the Phantom Driver.
Result: Santos Escobar's pinch victory who then won a place in the stand and deliver ladder match. It was one of the more entertaining matches of the night that brought the best out of the two top superstars. Grimes has featured in numerous title matches but has failed to win an active title.
Hopefully, he will win a championship soon and get the recognition he deserves. Two-time Hall of Famer Scott Hall tragically passed away on March 14, and the superstars of NXT paid homage to the former Intercontinental Champion on the show.
MSK wore nWo shirts during their segment; The Dirty Dawgs attempted to copy The Outsiders entrance, and Mandy Rose spray-painted the Toxic Attraction logo on Cora Jade’s back, in a tribute to the legendary WCW stable that Hall was a crucial part of.
These were just a small handful of the tributes paid. NXT’s Halloween Havoc featured four main card bouts that captured everyone’s attention. Toxic Attraction triumphed in the triple threat ladder match for the NXT Women’s tag team championships.
While Mandy Rose of Toxic Attraction won her first WWE championship by beating Raquel Gonzalez.
