WWE has not officially announced the event that they are doing to hold in Saudi Arabia. We know that it might take place on the 7th of June according to rumors. WWE Backlash PPV event was moved according to reports. It was going to take place in San Diego on the 16th of June.
Now, it is going to take place on the 23rd of June in Tacoma, Washington. This was to prevent two big shows to be held close to each other. Triple H recently announced that the next Takeover event will be on the 8th of June on Saturday.
It will be at the San Jose State University Event Center in San Jose, California. It would be one day after the Saudi Arabia event if rumors are to be believed. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Radio stated that Takeover will now be moved as well.
NXT tapings will take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week which would run through Takeover. The decision will be made by that time. The WWE is keeping silent about the Saudi Arabia event, even though the event is rumored to be six weeks away.
Even in the earnings call that took place recently, Vince McMahon didn’t speak once about the even in Saudi Arabia. Co-president George stated the following when he was asked about the event taking place in Q2: "We're going to stay away from guiding on specific elements of the quarter," Barrios said (h/t to Motley Fool for the transcription). "So obviously, we'll talk about it once we report."
