CM Punk's highly anticipated return to AEW is just hours away, set to take place during the inaugural episode of Collision in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The former AEW World Champion has been absent from the promotion since All Out 2022, where he claimed the title only to be stripped of it shortly after due to a backstage altercation with The Elite.
While much speculation has revolved around Punk's future with the company, one aspect often overlooked is the injury he sustained during his title match against Jon Moxley. Punk tore his triceps during the bout, which would have necessitated a significant recovery period regardless of other circumstances.
Punk Opens Up
In an explosive interview with ESPN ahead of his AEW comeback, Punk delved into his grievances with Hangman Adam Page. It revealed details about his infamous media scrum appearance after All Out. Additionally, he provided an update on his health: "In wrestling, we often joke about getting hurt doing the dumb stuff.
You can fall off a 15-foot ladder through a table and be perfectly fine, running six miles the next day and hitting the gym. But it's always the mundane things, the routine maneuvers we've done countless times in our careers, that end up causing injuries.
The mental aspect of this recovery has been challenging too. "Fortunately, I have a great support system. My wife, AJ Lee, and our dog Larry, amazing friends, and a dedicated rehab team, have helped me get back in the ring much sooner than expected, even though it feels like ages ago." In his highly anticipated return match after a nine-month absence from AEW, CM Punk will join forces with AEW Tag Team Champions FTR to face off against Samoa Joe, Juice Robinson, and Jay White.
As the wrestling world eagerly awaits CM Punk's comeback, fans and critics alike are thrilled to see the renowned athlete back in action. The Collision debut promises an electric atmosphere as Punk steps into an AEW ring once again, ready to captivate audiences with his undeniable talent and passion for the sport.
