The Street Profits are the current NXT Tag Team Champions. The group consists of Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford. They were present at a recent episode of RAW that was in Dallas, TX. The group was introduced by Charly Casuso backstage.
They performed some comedy and cut a few promos on the microphone. They stated that they were “bring the swag” to Monday night RAW. They also interrupted Paul Heyman during his segment with Caruso backstage. Heyman was talking about the possibility of a Brock Lesnar cash-in when they interrupted.
The group did even more comedy before leaving. The WWE has not announced whether the group will be part of RAW now. So we have no idea whether they will be part of the main roster immediately or not. They are still listed as being members of NXT according to the official list.
The Street Profits won the NXT Tag titles at Takeover: XXV which took place in June. They will be defending their newly won titles at Takeover: Toronto II, which will be held during the SummerSlam weekend. Below is the official statement regarding the interruption that was released by the WWE: "NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits confronted Paul Heyman Okay, maybe "confronted" is a strong word, but the NXT Tag Team Champions were out and about backstage at Monday Night Raw, dripping swag and initiating an oddly intense encounter with Paul Heyman, who was trumpeting the latest will-he-or-won't-he warning about Brock Lesnar when The Street Profits came calling.
Unfortunately for them, Heyman was none too moved by The Street Profits messing with his outfit and rubbing his head, and he opted to take his leave — though he did go out of his way to avoid the champs while exiting.
Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford concluded they'd "overstayed their welcome," though they might have been a bit hard on themselves. After all, Heyman just wasn't receptive to them. It doesn't mean they shouldn't come back sometime soon."
