Injuries are the worst nightmare for any athlete, and WWE superstars are very much at risk because they have to perform many times throughout the year. Their schedule is really busy and they have to travel a lot, which is why they do everything they can to preserve their body and avoid having to stand still for a long time.
In the latest edition of WWE Survivor Series, the injuries of Bronson Reed and Tonga Loa left fans speechless. Both will have to stay away from the ring for several months and it will be almost impossible for them to participate in WrestleMania 41 in the spring of 2025.

However, there was also good news for WWE this week. Shotzi is finally back in the NXT ring after a long absence due to injury. The latter had suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in February, a very serious injury that forced her to a long period of rehabilitation.
Shotzi has worked very hard physically and mentally, always being supported by her colleagues and WWE in recent months. She appeared on the last episode of NXT to the delight of the crowd, helping Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley defend themselves from the onslaught of the Fatal Influence (Jazmyn Nyx, Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne).
Shotzi is back
During this long time away from the scenes, Shotzi has also been able to develop a new gimmick called 'American Psycho' which will be presented very soon.

On the latest edition of ‘Chasing Glory’ with Lilian Garcia, Shotzi revealed her huge childhood trauma: "I had a pretty rough childhood, to be honest," Blackheart said with hesitation. "I bounced around from like, my mom's to my dad's and to my friend's house at a real young age. I dealt with a lot of s*xual abuse for like, years. When I finally came out about it – I came out to my middle school counselor – [my uncle] went to jail. He's still in jail now. But when I came out about it, some of my family didn't believe me. But my dad really helped me through it, and so did musical theater. That's why I liked performing so much – it was a big outlet for me. That was my therapy."
She continued: "I had to do a lot of therapy afterward. I found like, a really awesome therapist, so that helped a lot. And like I said, performing was always just like therapy in itself. I think I always chased it, so I think wrestling is therapy for me too. I just need it.
"I had fun in school, except for high school. High school was the worst. I was raped in high school during my freshman year," she revealed. "I told my best friend and she got me to come out about it, and everyone at school did not believe me. They just labeled me as a slut. They'd say, 'She's lying, she's a skank.'”
A new chapter
Prior to joining WWE, Shotzi wrestled for various companies on the independent circuit, such as Shimmer Women Athletes, Evolve, Rise Wrestling, and Shine Wrestling, where she won the Shine Nova Championship.
The current NXT star has also had several experiences on the main roster, where she has not been able to fully show her talent. Shotzi participated in the 2023 edition of the Survivor Series, in which she teamed up with Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair against Damage CTRL.
Shotzi has a great relationship with most of her colleagues and is appreciated by everyone thanks to her dedication to this business.

In a long interview with ‘Fightful’, Raquel Rodriguez spoke about her friendship with Shotzi: “You know what’s so funny? Shotzi was actually in my tryouts. So we both had our tryouts with NXT, I believe it was in 2016. She looked completely different. She was the only girl there that actually had wrestling experience at the time because I had just started out, my father was only letting me roll around and train with a select few. So my knowledge of wrestling was very, very minimal. So I’ve known her since then.”
She also added: “Then getting the opportunity to know that I would go with EVOLVE and have my first gimmick—a street fight is what it was. So we were using chairs, we were using my bull rope, we were using ladders. That was the first time I ever had a match like that and it was against Shotzi. She was already known for being this hardcore super ready to do whatever and take whatever type of person. I was like, ‘Alright, this is where you really get tested if you want to do this. ‘Cause you gotta shut up or you gotta put up, and we’re gonna do it, dang it.”
