Drew McIntyre on NXT Invasion

Drew McIntyre was one of the many superstars that invaded NXT this week. It helped boost NXT viewership numbers and NXT beat AEW Dynamite for the first time, ever since the Wednesday Night Wars started. It was also done to promote the upcoming Survivor Series PPV event.

McIntyre took out Dominik Dijakovic during the NXT episode and then got taken out by Keith Lee. Drew then spoke on Twitter about the whole episode and thanked Triple H for giving him the opportunity to appear at NXT. Drew wrote, "Appreciate the invite @TripleH.

You brought me back to @WWE but this Sunday I gotta put your boys down #SurvivorSeries P.S @RealKeithLee First @WWNEVOLVE now @WWENXT I got a bag of receipts to collect on you" Drew was most likely referring to Lee’s attack at WWN Live "Mercury Rising: EVOLVE vs.

PROGRESS" It took McIntyre off the card and he couldn’t compete that day. The event took place on the 1st of April, 2017. That night, Drew made it to NXT Takeover: Orlando, which marked his return to the company. It was held during the WrestleMania 33 weekend.

This is Drew’s second run with the company. He had to leave the WWE a few years ago as he wasn’t doing well in the company. He made his way to Impact Wrestling where he got extremely famous. He wrestled on the indies for a while before he made his official WWE return.
