It had been reported earlier that the WWE were keen to induct Walter into its fold, by giving him a contract with their UK affiliation. However, it has now emerged that Walter isn't inclined towards signing this offering too.
In an interview with the Mirror, the 31-year-old indie wrestler stated, "I don’t know if I mentioned this but being a part of the Raw or SmackDown roster is nothing I am interested in. I don’t want to live in the US.
I really like NXT though, I think it’s a great product, filled with the best talent in the world and is focused on competition in the ring, which is something I enjoy. I don’t want to say it will never happen because in wrestling things change so quickly."
With respect to him being offered a contract by the WWE, Walter had declined because he didn't want to leave native Austria for a longer duration. In addition, he also wanted to honour his commitment to the Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXW) promotion which is based in Germany.
A three-time wXw Unified World Wrestling champion, Walter had made his professional wrestling debut for the promotion, back in 2007. He is also the reigning Progress World Champion, which is a title offered by Progress Wrestling.
